There is beauty in imperfection

I have big dreams but I am not a dreamer. While on this journey of reinventing myself, I’ve had weeks of wonderful bliss, where I am in awe of the beauty that surrounds us and able to see with clarity how every one of us can live a life of their dreams. Then there are those days when I get overwhelmed and I have to go do nothing but sit in front of the TV and eat a bag of Doritos. Those are my imperfect days.

What I’ve come to realize about those imperfect days is that if I stay mindful of my vision but just give myself a little more freedom to just ‘be’ and not worry about what is coming, the beauty lies in the trust that universe will help you take that next step closer towards your dreams. The best thing you can do for yourself in those days is just be still and have an open heart for inspiration. It is also a great day to accept that it isn’t perfect, so go ahead and allow yourself to be imperfect… go ahead and write that imperfect blog post, take one more step in that imperfect project you are working on, make those imperfect changes you want on your website, go do that imperfect fitness activity that helps energize your soul… whatever it takes, it’s okay, it’s imperfect and there are days like that.

With any change in life, there will be growing pains. When we go through slumps like that, you can be sure you are just about to grow once again. It is in imperfection that we can really discover what it is that we need to work on next and imperfection is beautiful.

What do you do in times of imperfection to get you through? I would love to hear your story, please comment below to share.

Keep loving and learning and making a difference, however big or small!
