It’s all in the details…
This is not the first time that I’ve had something that I felt really resonated with who I was born to be. But’s it’s likely the first time I actually followed through and am going to do something about it.
One of my biggest challenges I realized lately is that I get stuck in the details. A great idea happens, I have all the right reasons to do it, I feel passionate about it, I start planning… then I get stuck! The first thing I realized is that I get stuck with allowing others to help me, I have absolutely no problem helping others but when I need help and support, I suck it up and never ask for it. I feel I can do it all by myself, hmmm… maybe if I had infinite amount of time, I could devote to learning everything well and do it but I don’t have that kind of time. I’m a busy mom on a time crunch, after the kids go to bed, I have a few moments to gather my thoughts and try to organize it so it makes some kind of sense. Well, a few times, I felt really down, am I really going to make this happen? I am totally going to push through and stay on course as it is THAT important that I do, for me and for my kids.
Obstacle number one… let someone actually support me and be a sounding board. Thanks so much to Aileen De La Torre at Spark Creations for being the first to be my sounding board to the success circle! Of course, there are a lot more support leaders out there that I am going to work with but she is the first one to share in my first born creative venture. I am looking forward to the wonderful connections that are going to come from Fearless Mommies.
Obstacle number two… I really wanted to have a website that looks beautiful and a reflection of what I envision for Fearless Mommies. I enlisted the help of a graphic designer as my time is really limited, she bailed on me last minute. Have to say that was a little setback for me emotionally but I came to the realization that was a small detail and not to get hung up on the small details! Hey, this website isn’t sexy but if Fearless Mommies becomes what I envision for moms, a beautiful website will prevail… eventually! It might even be sexy!
Obstacle number three… I need a good location to do the first success circle run for Fearless Mommies. It is going to be my basement, not the ideal place, but it’s dry, clean and it works. Again, had to remind myself to not get too hung up on it being ‘perfect’. It’s really ALL about the experience and my only concern is that the experience will be invaluable to the success circle members.
I am sure there are going to be endless obstacles, but you can not have growth without some obstacles. I am loving it and it’s all about the experience and it is going to be a good one so let’s not get stuck on the details!
