Destined for greatness

One of my biggest problems when I feel I am destined for greatness is the wondering of how is it possible for me? Little average me doesn’t think I have a problem with being Greatness, what little average me has a problem with, is the belief that I can be great when others are not? I begin with why was I chosen for this role… then I realize there are many others like me, then I wonder if a whole bunch of people want the same thing, then why is it possible that  “I” can succeed? I’m not special or better than anyone else, then I realize 2 huge points:

  • Everyone has their own uniqueness.
  • This is not a competition.

Everyone has their own uniqueness

Well, the universe works in mysterious and magical ways, depending how you see it can be mysterious or magical. I find it magical and I call it grace, this morning while thinking about my issues with greatness, I came to the realization that I should trust my role and not be concerned about how other people’s ‘greatness’ fits into the grand scheme of things. As soon as I sat down to write, I get this in my email box from my daily quote from Abraham-Hicks website:

“Everyone doesn’t have to be the same. Most say,”Well, it’s so much easier if we’re all the same.” And we say, it is not easier when you’re all the same; conformity is the thing that thwarts you most. That massive wanting to get you to conform – to all think the same way and want the same things – is what is causing the revolt that is happening within you. You are determined to be freedom-seekers in a Mass Consciousness society that is determined to make you the same.  — Abraham”

Interesting how when a thought comes that I feel there is truth to it, that something so miraculous as an email will back it up. Not everyone is the same and we are all part of a larger picture. This picture is of a mass consciousness that is seeking freedom in their life to love and be loved, to express it’s love for humanity as a whole. It’s not my job to be concerned about how I fit in the ‘big picture’ along with everyone else, but it is my job and your job to achieve your ‘greatness’ in this lifetime. It is not my job to judge what is the definition of ‘greatness’ for everyone in their lifetime, it is my job to just focus on myself and becoming a better me.

 This isn’t a competition

A little part of me thinks that if I achieve greatness it is taking away someone else’s chance so why would I be special? I am not any more deserving of it. Or that if there are other’s achieving greatness, then there’s no room for little old me to achieve it. This is simply not true. We are all promised the same thing – ‘freedom’ if we stick to the course through the highs and lows. This isn’t a competition of who is going to get there sooner or later, we all just follow our hearts and your path and you will get freedom and abundance to live the life we are promised. Actually the sooner we achieve our greatness, the easier it would be for others to attain the same. Ironically, this is true, we pave the path for others to be great.  So much of the society that I have been brought up with in N.America teaches us to think that this is a competition and we need to get there first. Dog eat dog world, early bird gets the worm. The universe including humanity is just not built that way and we need to realize that. The only thing you need to remember is to stay on course, be the best ‘you’… don’t worry what everyone else is doing. We don’t need to worry if we’re taking away something from someone else if we ‘win’ and if it means we’re saying ‘we’re special and you’re not’… it isn’t a competition and we are all special. Achieve greatness and that will help others achieve greatness too.

What does ‘greatness’ look to you and how can you help moving yourself even a little inch towards that? Would love to hear your feedback in the comment section below.

Keep loving and learning and making a difference, however big or small!
